MrS and I haven’t had a free weekend since I’ve been down here. This weekend was no exception.
On Saturday we celebrated MissS’s 18th Birthday with dinner at Baltic. This Eastern European restaurant is housed in an eighteenth century former coach builder’s works and serves over 60 different types of vodkas, along with an extensive list of martinis and cocktails. The food is very, very, good and we punctuated our courses with lemon, vanilla, pear, rose petal and caramel flavour vodkas as well as an amazing Georgian white with dinner itself. Oh and A Raspberry Daquiri and a Brandy
Alexander at either end… We were on pain of death not to “embarrass” MissS but the restaurant twigged that it was a celebration (I expect all the glass chinking and vodka one-upmanship gave it away) and they duly put a sparkler in her dessert and we were the second table of 3 that night to sing Happy Birthday. It was a really fun night and MissS was irritatingly unhungover as she set off for her holiday in Portugal the next day.
MrS and I were also reasonably fresh which was just as well as we had to drive to Norfolk yesterday to finally move MasterPlucky into the new flat. He is under strict instructions to keep it nice, it will, after all, be our weekend bolthole too. We
also did three dump-runs in the van and got rid of all the last lots of rubbish from my old rental place. MasterPlucky is paying me keep for staying in the flat and the deal was that he would pay one of the bills. I decided on the tv and broadband because I knew that would be the one he’d be most bothered about sorting out.
Unsurprisingly he was ordering a new set-up from Virgin within an hour of landing in the flat ;)
