MrS and I seem to have reached the point where the weekends have finally settled down. Lie-ins and mooching around are the order of the day.
I could have done without the dog waking me up about 4 times last night and have been in a zombie state most of the day. The countless G&Ts and Chinese, plus my anxiety from a difficult day at work, didn’t help and a nice nap ( a “pre-party-lie down as they are known ChezStickz, even though there is no party to attend tonight) this afternoon helped.
We walked the dog this morning and it was one of those days where you left the house in the shade and it was cold, but by the time you’d walked in the full sun round the field you were melting. A quick whizz round Tesco for the weekly shop and tonight’s dinner a deux (moules marinier and frites cooked by MrS, followed by Tarte au Citroen *cough* purchased by me) and we were off to the garden centre.
Smudge has been under house arrest since the neighbours’ complaints about her getting in to their garden so we have come up with a temporary solution until we move. This involved us going to the local garden centre which featured these shocking garden ornaments (pic courtesy of MrS) and even more shockingly, full blast Slade “Merry Christmas Everyone” and a massive Christmas department around which parents were dragging their small children. Why do parents do this? It’s weeks until Christmas. Children have barely any concept of time. Talk about a rod for your
own back. I even heard the age old “Father Christmas won’t come if you’re not good”. Stop it. It’s October for goodness sake.
Anyway we have created this for Smudge in the hope that she will use the dog flap and go outside for some air and a wee but that it’ll be too boring for her to want to stay out there and bark all day. Fingers crossed…
One really exciting thing happened yesterday. MrS booked our tickets for New York. We are not going until May but I am so very excited already. Regular readers will know this is the one thing I vowed to do post divorce and led to the Plucky Fuckit list. I originally planned to do this alone of course, assuming I would be on the shelf for the rest of time. How happy I am to be doing it with MrS instead.
And another exciting thing. I have been asked to contribute some blog posts to thePost40Bloggers site which will come mainly from APluckyHeroine so keep an eye out for those :)
