MrS had asked me to take some photos, I thought just of the band, but when I got there it turned out that I was photographing the whole thing. This was fine by me, it’s all good practise and with digital it doesn’t matter how many photos you take to get the right one.
Lindsey (@honeytothe) came too (after getting lost on the way) and there was a great turn out from MrS’s firm who were organising the event. Unfortunately the sharing platters weren’t very substantial and as a result of drinking “a bucket of gin” (Quote from MrS) on an empty stomach (and, schoolgirl error, through a straw), I was slightly the worse for wear this morning. So much so that I couldn’t remember if I had taken my contact lenses out last night. After about 15 minutes prodding my eyes I came to the conclusion I had removed them (although I have no idea when) but by this time my eyes were so sore that I wasn’t completely convinced I hadn’t pushed them up inside my eyelid either!
On my way to the office I called in at Specsavers, Holborn to enlist their help. I was mortified at telling them I couldn’t remember if I’d taken them out or not but they were fantastic, they checked both my eyes and were happy to confirm that the lenses were indeed… not there. So clearly not soooo drunk to think to take my lenses out but too drunk to remember doing it. Two cups of builders tea and an awesome bacon baguette (I dare not tell my fitbit about that!) from Porterford Butchers as prescribed by MrS and I almost felt normal again.
The final part of my hangover cure was a glass of wine at Kelvie&Brown this evening whilst Mark did my hair. Super civilised and so friendly there. A real gem in a world of impersonal faceless salons.
In a world of great customer service we’ll just gloss over the fact that DHL have lost my Mango delivery …
