So no, we don’t do Thanksgiving here in the UK. The closest we get is Harvest Festival, donating a bag of dried pasta to the school or church which in turn is donated to the Salvation Army.
Today I give thanks for
My health – I still have it, I may abuse it sometimes but I walk an average of 4 miles a day, don’t smoke, drink in moderation (mostly!) and have never touched a single illegal drug in my life
MrS – of course.
My sons – my healthy, happy, well adjusted sons, who cause me relatively little anxiety these days, regularly make me laugh and also make me very proud that I had an input in making them what they are.
Family – new and old, blood and step. MrS’s children have brought a new dimension to my life
Friends – I’ve made some amazing new friends this year and reconnected with some old in the last few months.
MrS – I know, I said him already, but it’s my list!
My life – so different to how it was a year ago. Every day I realise how lucky I am. I don’t want to take that for granted.
