Dear Monty I hope you are well and received the supplies I sent you after your last telegram. I looked up The Gower on something called Google Maps. You are a very long way away but it looks very beautiful.
I have been very busy since I last wrote. We have been to the place called Norfolk twice, and we did indeed go to somewhere called Istanbul. On a plane Monty! I’ve been out for dinner (and cocktails) with Plucky and her friend Lindsey.
But anyway, to keep things in order, after I last wrote, we came to Norfolk for theweekend. Plucky comes from Norfolk originally and she has two sons who live there and a mum and dad too. We all went out for a belated Christmas lunch and on the Sunday we went to a bird reserve. I thought they were going to leave me there Monty! There were lots of other birds and ducks there, I’m sure it was very nice forthose ducks but it was FREEZING and definitely not for me! It has been so very cold lately Monty, we’ve even had snow and I heard Plucky tell her mum on the phone that it never snows in London. I hate January.
I don’t think Plucky and MrS like it either Monty, that’s why we went to Istanbul last weekend. It wasn’t a lot warmer, like I thought it would be, but a few degrees at this time of the year makes all the difference and we could at least abandon the puffy coats ( I ignore the fact these are stuffed with duck down Monty) for a few days. Flying is wonderful Monty. And the breakfast in the BA lounge before hand wasn’t too shabby either.
Istanbul is an incredible place Monty, you’d love it. And the hotel, sheesh, it was nicer than my old home. The bed was ginormous! There was a bit of a to-do on the Friday afternoon when the car taking us to the hotel from the airport bumped another car (they all drive like lunatics and the traffic is bonkers) so we were all exhausted when we got to the hotel. We walked for miles on the Saturday looking at all the old
buildings. Plucky and MrS take a LOT of photos but at least they always remember to take some of me.
We’ve been to Norfolk again this weekend. They took me on the beach and there was a man swimming in the sea! In February Monty! Brrrr. Even their silly dog knew it was too cold to go in the sea!
It’s all been very exciting so far Monty, much better than sitting in a hotel bathroom for the rest of my life!
I have sent you some more provisions – some Turkish Delight and some Baklava. Plucky had gone without sugar since Christmas but seemed to make up for it by eating ALL the baklava in Turkey. I can’t say I blame her, it was delicious.
Write soon and let me know what you think of the sweets. I’m sorry there’s a little missing, but I had to check it tasted good! Tell me what you’ve been up to?
