I was thinking my numbers didn't seem right. So I did what anyone would do and I googled. Apparently today is only 273, not 277 as I thought. Oh well, you probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't told you. Anyway, I don't want anyone thinking I'm short changing them and I want to get to day 365 on the right date.
Anyway, this weekend....
Since I moved down here I've not really had a chance to go proper clothes shopping. I manage to get stuff in my lunch hour, but I'm limited to where I can shop in an hour. Shopping online is a pain, I get stuff delivered to work but that only works if I can carry it home. Then if I need to return it I have to take it all back in to work again the next day to do so.
So Saturday found me going solo to Bluewater. MrS and I have been a few times together but it's always for something specific. Also he usually drives.
This weekend I drove myself and shopped for 3 hours. Getting there was ok, although once in Bluewater itself I missed the turning for the House of Fraser carpark so had to come all the way out and back in again. In three hours I managed two tops, 2 t-shirts and a couple of other bits and pieces but the black trousers eluded me. (Also, no shoes? How did this happen? It's like I don't know myself!)
Anyway, as Rubbishwife and IzzieAnderton have both pointed out recently, shopping this year IS HARD! All the tops are voluminous tents and the trousers... well for heavens sake, skinny, tapered? What this seems to equate to is massive and baggy round the top and too tight round the calves (for me anyway). So I decided I had to bite the bullet. I went to Hobbs. I can't afford to shop at Hobbs for the every day but black trousers are a wardrobe staple. I found the perfect pair today. They hang beautifully, they fit perfectly (size 12) and they are altering them for me (waist and leg, they don't do petite!) They will last me for ages and, most importantly, they Make. Me. Feel. Good.
Yesterday found us in the unlikely presence of a wedding fayre. Only because the venue we're having our party at were holding one yesterday when we went to pay our deposit. We didn't loiter too long once we'd paid although, it did lead to discussion about wedding cake. I thought MrS wouldn't want one but "of course we need a cake, who doesn't like cake?". He's not wrong to be fair. I've added it to the list ;) Of course there's a list.
This week is a four day week for most people. MrS is away again, the Czech Republic this time, but we are off to recuperate in Norfolk for a week on Friday and can't wait.
