As well as an outfit that stands out from the crowd, you might be wondering what gift to buy the happy couple. Especially those who, like MrS and me, asked for people’s presence rather than their presents at their wedding.
Where to find something different?
Shortly after we got married I was asked to take a look at the Wedding Book of Everyone, from the nice people at The Book of Everyone.
The premise is simple – you fill in the names, gender and dates of birth for both bride and groom (or bride and bride or groom and groom, the site caters for all) and the website produces a fun, colourful and romantic book for the happy couple.
The website is very simple to use and its FAQs are worth a look even if you think you don’t need them. After asking for the information, the site autofills the pages for you. You can then view, and in some cases alter, each individual page. For example you can change the quotes that are automatically chosen for you. You can also include a personal message from you in the front of the book (ie “Congratulations, with love from Sam and Jane”). Once you’re happy with the finished book you can move on to choose what finish you would like. You can easily create your book on a smart phone or tablet too. And that's it!
The Wedding Book of Everyone comes in two formats. You can chose between the Hardcover (£44.50) or the Deluxe Edition (£64.50)
I was given a voucher for the Deluxe edition which included postage and a lovely box in which to keep the book. You also get a digital copy emailed to you.
The book arrived today and I am really impressed with the finish and look of it. It’s funky, modern and fun. The quality is excellent – the paper is thick and glossy and the Deluxe cover is padded with a matt finish. Each end of the book is for one partner and the pages meet in the middle
The site has myriad different books that can be created in this way; you can make one about anyone and they would make a special present for milestone birthdays in particular (The original Book of Everyone starts from £7.50 for a digital version to £49.50 for a deluxe version). They also do a nice little line of personalizable cards (that’s not a word is it?)
I’d also like to say what great customer service I received from the Book of Everyone. When I realised I should have had the book dispatched to my work address instead of my home address, I emailed the ‘contact us’ address and they got back to me within 24 hours to confirm they would change the mailing address for me. Really helpful.
I love the book, love the concept and the website is dead easy to use. The book arrived within a week of me ordering it (and would have been quicker if not for the back holiday).
The Deluxe version of The Wedding Book of Everyone is beautiful, however it is quite pricey. As part of this review I was offered the Deluxe version but I suspect the standard version would be just as wonderful and more affordable as a gift for most. It will take pride of place on our book case along with our wedding album.
If you’re looking for something different as a special gift I would definitely recommend a Book of Everyone.
Disclaimer: I was sent a voucher for a Deluxe Wedding Book of Everyone worth £64.50 for free. Views and opinions remain honest and my own.
