Sometimes as a blogger you can’t think of what to write about.
Sometimes you have plenty to write about but for some reason or another you can’t write it. Or rather, can’t share it.
You think that maybe you will wait for the thing to resolve itself and THEN you can write about it and present the full story. Ta Da!
But sometimes because you haven’t written about the initial thing (for whatever reason) you realise that a lot of time has passed, you haven’t blogged for ages and now that you can write about ALL the things, it will be a mammoth post that no one will want to read. Still with me?
Life has very much got in the way recently, as it has a habit of doing.
There is still one unresolved thing that I can’t blog about that has been going on for over THREE WEEKS now. Hopefully by the end of this week I can share my [good] news. Even if it’s bad I will share the gory details, but, you know, I’m obviously HOPING it will be good. Especially after this weekend.
Because life threw us a couple of curved balls on Friday.
Firstly No1 had some bad news about his job and then sadly on Friday night MrS lost his lovely mum, who has been very ill since May with the bastard cancer. Mr and MrsS Senior
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year (SIXTY FIVE YEARS!) and have four children, ten grandchildren and (so far) two great grandchildren. What a wonderful legacy this primary school teacher has left in such a large family. But even when these things are expected they still come as a shock and she will leave a big hole.
So yesterday I drove to Norfolk and MrS drove to Hull (StepD2) and then to Manchester (StepS1). Instead of all the cleaning I had planned on doing after the fitting of our new kitchen, I quickly shoved everything back into the new cupboards, and then No1 and I spent time with his dad and step-mum re-writing his CV and discussing “what next?”
And instead of visiting his mum today, MrS visited his Dad and sister to discuss funeral plans, which we hope will take place before we go on our honeymoon next Saturday.
As for the new kitchen, I turned on the dishwasher and an hour later it spewed its waste water all over the floor because the waste pipe hadn’t been connected properly. The plumber is expected back tomorrow and I’m counting that as the third thing.
