Fifty things I know:
~ A good moisturiser is worth its weight in gold
~ So is a good hairdresser – make friends with yours
~ Waxing hurts, shaving doesn’t
~ A true friend will see you through good, bad and ugly. Those who don’t are not your friends
~Life is short. Enjoy it
~ Learn to take the rough with the smooth
~ Own your mistakes, but also your triumphs.
~ Forgive others their mistakes. If you don’t it will eat you up
~ No one is perfect, not even you
~ There is more good than bad in the world, even though it may not seem like it most of the time.
~ You have your right to an opinion. So does everyone else. Just because you think their opinion is wrong, it doesn’t make it any less valid.
~ You have two ears and one mouth for a reason
~ Travel. Even if it’s “just” in your own country
~ Exercise moderately. If you are injured, rest!
~ No one’s dying words were ever “I wish I’d spent more time at work.” Most people need to work to live, but we also need to LIVE
~ Read. Knowledge is power
~ Life is too short to finish a bad book
~ Try to see the beauty in the world. Especially when the world is ugly.
~ Don’t save things for “best”
~ Know your hangover cure
~ Baz Luhrmann wasn’t joking when he said “wear sunscreen”
~ Don’t discuss politics or religion at parties
~ You can’t do it all
~ If you are in a bad relationship and can’t change it, leave
~ Never go into a relationship expecting to be able to change the other person
~ Don’t be surprised when the other person in your relationship changes
~ Irons, ovens and hair straighteners get very hot
~ Bad things do happen to good people. So do good things
~ If you want someone to know how you feel, you usually need to tell
them; People are not mind readers
~ Drink plenty of water
~ Eat plenty of fruit and veg
~ However good or bad a situation is, it WILL change
~ Be honest – with yourself and others
~ Do not hide behind “honesty” to cover your rudeness. If you can’t say a anything nice, don’t say anything at all
~ Have dreams. Accomplish them
~ Compliments are always welcome. Learn how to take one
~ Do what you love at least some of the time
~ The likelihood of technology failing you is in direct proportion to how urgent the project is
~ Don’t take everything personally
~ Take valid criticism on the chin
~ Don’t engage with trolls. Use the block button
~ Don’t be late – it’s rude and implies your time is more important than the person you are meeting with. If you are running late at least let the person know
~ When your children become adults, treat them like one
~ What goes around comes around
~ Less is more – applies to makeup, jewellery and bare flesh
~ If you love your job, be the best you can be
~ If you hate your job, find one you love
~ Don't take people for granted
Love is always the answer.
