Life and Love in London was born when I moved here in 2014. Quite a life change for someone who at the age of 44 had lived her entire life in Norfolk.
Whenever I dreamed of living in London, I thought you could get anywhere on the tube in about 25 minutes, I didn't know about Metro trains, and I was blissfully ignorant of South Eastern Rail. I also didn't know how much I would fall in love with it. It is absolutely the best city in the world, anywhere. Leaving aside the politics, there is nowhere else like it. Even being in the middle of a terror attack on London Bridge didn't make me want to live anywhere else. It's crazy expensive (but not as expensive as Oslo and Reykjavik), it's huge (the biggest city in Europe after Moscow. The next UK city, Birmingham is number 33), it's always busy (people go out on a Tuesday night here and think NOTHING OF IT), there's always something new to see. And always something old. I've made new friends, I gained new family. I've learnt a lot. I don't know if I would have learned the same anywhere else, but I'm glad I didn't have to. And of course the best thing is, I did it all with MrS.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing life here through my eyes, but although we will still be living in London for a while yet, our horizons are changing and there's lots of life to write about outside of London.
Thank you for reading and commenting over the past 4 years, I would really love you to join me at Lara In The Middle to see what I get up to next.
